Mark Santoro Director, Owner, Certified Instructor.
Mark discovered Hot Yoga in the fall of 1999 in New York City and has been a regular practitioner for many years. In the spring of 2012, he graduated from the Yoga College of India under the direction of Bikram Choudhury and is certified with 500 plus hours in the Bikram Method. Mark taught Hot Yoga in New York City and now resides in Port Charlotte, Florida. In the fall of 2018 Mark attended the Barkan Method Teacher's Training program receiving his certification in Vinyasa and also holds a certification in Yin Yoga. A former professional Broadway dancer Mark has appeared on Broadway and in the National touring companies of Gypsy, Sophisticated Ladies, The Tap Dance Kid, Carrie, A Chorus Line, Cats, Damn Yankees and Show Boat.
With an extensive background in theater dance Mark taught Tap, Jazz, Ballet andAcro/Tumbling classes at the prestigious American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Manhattan for 12 years as well as many major dance organizations throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Italy. To keep up his strength and flexibility with this demanding schedule, a friend suggested trying a style of Hot Yoga that would repair the body, mind and soul. Mark was immediately hooked and realized the healing power of Hot Yoga. He continues his yoga studies attending workshops and lectures lead by Rajashree Choudhury, Emmy Cleaves, Mary Jarvis, Esak Garcia, Lynn Whitlow, Georgia Balligian, Jason Crandell, Dr. Jim Preddy, and Dr. Ray Long .
I am truly grateful and deeply honored to be able to share my knowledge of this amazing yoga and to motivate and guide my students safely as they discover true health, balance and joy through their own yoga practice.

I hesitate to share the secret of this sweet spot we have right here in our own, Port Charlotte. I found incredible, substantial relief from pain after just my first class. My personal goal is 10 classes per month and the trade off is improved energy, improved mood, and less pain. "Like a pearl necklace"....'it is amazing! Janice G.
So happy to have found a hot yoga in Port Charlotte! I have been to several different hot yoga classes and this has to be my favorite one yet. Mark is an excellent teacher, very knowledgeable, and is suitable for beginners and advanced students. Nancy H.
Mark is an amazing, friendly, inspiring and challenging instructor. The studio is clean and welcoming. Classes are always on time and he has everything you need to participate. The practice of hot yoga itself has too many benefits to list. So glad we now have this available in Charlotte County. Jennifer G.
What if I’m not flexible?
This is the most common misconception that prevents people from coming to a yoga class. Yoga is not about how flexible you are, but about strengthening your body and spine in all directions. All that matters is that you try the right way, go to your personal “edge” and you will get 100% of the benefit!
Why the heated room?
The room is intentionally heated to warm your muscles and allow you to work deeper and safer. The heat also heals, helps prevent injuries and promotes sweating which flushes toxins from your body.
Is it a cardiovascular workout and can I lose weight?
No matter what your level of fitness, you will find Hot yoga very challenging. Each posture combines flexibility, strength and balance to work your whole body from your bones to your skin. With persistence, patience and dedication, you can lose inches and develop muscle tone and strength that might never come from other forms of exercise.
What are some of the benefits?
There are unlimited benefits to Hot yoga. It reduces stress, increases blood circulation and improves strength and flexibility. A regular practice (at least three times a week) can reduce the symptoms of many chronic diseases (i.e. arthritis, diabetes and thyroid disorders). It also promotes relaxation.
What should I wear to class?
Women should wear shorts or thin cotton leggings and leotard, jog bra or halter top. Men should wear shorts or bathing trunks. Since the room is heated, you will want to wear something that you feel comfortable sweating in.
What about hydration?
Since you will be sweating during class, be sure to drink plenty of water before, and after class. Including electrolytes in your hydration routine such as coconut water, watermelon juice or electrolyte supplements will make for a great class!
When should I eat before class?
We recommend that you do not eat a full meal at least 2 hours before class. If you are hungry, however, we recommend a light snack such as a banana or energy bar.
